Postponement Until the Clarification of the Situation

I must admit
I’m tired of thinking of you
while I shop or wait for the bus
while I read or fall asleep
or stroll through the field
in which each bird
obsessively watches me with your gaze
and sends me clearly decipherable signs

fine
I say to myself
if she flies to the left
it’s true
and there she flies
if fireflies again hide
in last year’s bushes in august
that means it’s true
that you love me

and because now it’s april
I continue thinking dutifully
at least until the end of summer
